The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of Mens ).

Saint-Baudille-et-Pipet is located about 45 kilometers south of Grenoble on the Vanne . Saint-Baudille-et-Pipet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mens in the north, Châtel-en-Trièves in the east and northeast, Pellafol in the southeast, Tréminis in the south and Prébois in the west.
