La Morte is a French municipality with 132 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Oisans-Romanche (until 2015 canton of Valbonnais ).

La Morte is surrounded by the neighboring communities Livet-et-Gavet in the north and north-east, Lavaldens in the east and south-east, Villard-Saint-Christophe in the south and south-west, Cholonge in the south-west and Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne in the west and north-west.
