Saint-Arey is a French commune with a population of 84 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015 canton of La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Aroys .

geography

Saint-Arey is located about 25 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble . The Drac limits the community to the south. Saint-Arey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Prunières in the north and east, Cognet in the east, Saint-Jean-d'Hérans in the south and Mayres-Savel in the west.
