Serre-Nerpol is a French municipality with 296 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016: Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Vinay ). The inhabitants are called albinois .

Serre-Nerpol is located about 28 kilometers west-northwest of Grenoble . Serre-Nerpol is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Michel-de-Saint-Geoirs in the north, Quincieu in the north and northeast, Vatilieu in the east, Notre-Dame-de-l'Osier in the southeast, Vinay in the south and southeast, Varacieux in the South and southwest, Chasselay in the west and Brion in the northwest.

history

After the merger of the municipalities of Serre and Nerpol in the course of the French revolutionary years between 1790 and 1794, the municipality name was initially Nerpol-et-Serre and was then changed to the current name in 1904.
