Rovon is a French municipality with 609 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan ( canton of Vinay until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called rovonnais .
geography
Rovon is about 21 kilometers west of Grenoble on the Isère , which borders the municipality in the north. The municipality is also part of the Vercors Regional Nature Park . Rovon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of L'Albenc in the north, Saint-Gervais in the east, Rencurel in the south and south-east, Malleval in the south and south-west, Cognin-les-Gorges in the west and north-west and Vinay in the north-west.
