Trainau is a district of the Upper Franconian community Redwitz an der Rodach in the Lichtenfels district .
geography
The village is located about 12 kilometers northeast of Lichtenfels on the district border with Kronach and Coburg in the Steinachtal . State road 2208 from Mitwitz to Redwitz an der Rodach runs through Trainau as the main road ("Redwitzer Straße") ; From this branch off a community road to Unterlangenstadt in the middle of the village .
In terms of natural space, the area of the village belongs to the western edge of the Upper Main hill country (also known as Upper Mainic Bruchschollenland), which extends between the Franconian Alb rising to the south and the Franconian Forest that adjoins it to the north . Above the extensive floodplain in the Steinach and Rodach valleys , which is filled with Ice Age and Holocene sediments , the settlement lies on rock packages of the Lower and Middle Keuper , which alternate between clay and sandy. The height of the Kümmelberg to the east (398 m above sea level) is formed by younger rocks of the Rhät and Lias .
The village ground plan is essentially that of a street green village : around the widened main road (Redwitzer Straße) - essentially in the area where it runs in a west-east direction - the old agricultural farms are grouped , i.e. H. the farm sites, which often consist of several individual buildings (i.e. house and stable or barn separated). They are mostly gable facing the street, elongated buildings sometimes extend far into the plots. At the western end of the Angers, the main road turns at right angles to the south in the direction of Redwitz, and at the east end just as at right angles to the north in the direction of Mannsgereut.
Originally a village stream ran along the Angers from east to west, which rose from a spring at the bend in the road to Mannsgereut. It is still shown on a site plan from 1958; it is no longer included in the 2003 plan.
history
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1288, when Gundeloh Marschall von Kunstadt donated the tithe for "Trandenhove" to the Sonnefeld monastery. It is sold to Hans Veit von Würtzburg zu Mitwitz in 1689.
In the Holy Roman Empire , Trainau belonged to the rulership of the bishopric or diocese of Bamberg or to the knighthood territories of the noble families of Redwitz and Würtzburg subordinate to the diocese .
In 1801 Trainau consisted of a community forge, a community shepherd's house, eleven fiefs of the Bamberg monastery and four fiefs of the lords of Würtzburg zu Mitwitz. The place was subject to all high and low jurisdictions of the bishopric, represented by the Burgkunstadt office , except for the Vogteilichkeit with the Würtzburg fiefdoms.
In 1818 Trainau belonged to the Obermainkreis . In 1840 the place, which was made a municipality in 1843, had 126 inhabitants. In 1862, the village was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Lichtenfels . In 1875 Trainau had 141 inhabitants, 93 of them Catholics and 38 Protestants, as well as 23 residential buildings. In 1900 the rural community of Trainau comprised an area of 202.78 hectares, 146 inhabitants, 101 of whom were Catholic and 45 were Protestant, and 25 residential buildings. The Catholic school and the Catholic parish were in Graitz, 2.0 kilometers away. The Protestant school was 3.0 kilometers away in Beikheim and the Protestant parish in Schmölz, 5.0 kilometers away . Both places belonged to the office of Kronach. In 1925, 145 people, including 110 Catholics and 35 Protestants, lived in 25 residential buildings in the village. In 1950 the place had 196 residents and 26 residential buildings.
In 1970 Trainau had 206 inhabitants and in 1987 228 inhabitants and 57 residential buildings with 79 apartments. On July 1, 1972, Trainau was incorporated into the municipality of Redwitz an der Rodach.
The predominantly agricultural place has developed into a housing estate with a few small businesses. In 2014 there were 62 apartment buildings and 259 residents. The land consolidation and village renewal took place in Trainau 1977 to 1996.
Attractions
The only listed building in the local area is the Gasthof Zum Engel , Redwitzer Straße 6. In 1860, Nikolaus Zipfel from Beikheim acquired this property. The two-storey half- hipped roof building in the Heimat style was built in 1910/11 as part of a renovation by the Redwitz master carpenter Friedrich Amschler. In 1980 the hall was renovated.
