laRegione (formerly laRegioneTicino ) is an Italian-language Swiss daily newspaper. Its headquarters are in Bellinzona , with local editorial offices in Lugano , Locarno and Chiasso . The newspaper reached a WEMF - certified Edition (. PY 25'703) of 23'645 sold or 28'954 (previous year 31'046.) Distributed copies and a reach of 87,000 readers. The publisher is Giacomo Salvioni, editor-in-chief and director is Matteo Caratti.

The newspaper has an important position in Italian-speaking Switzerland, especially in the Sopraceneri , where it is the newspaper with the greatest number of readers in the Bellinzona and Locarno regions. In the Lugano region and in the Mendrisiotto it is the second most readable newspaper after the Corriere del Ticino . Overall they achieved a reach of 97,000 readers (WEMF 2015).

The newspaper was created in 1992 through the merger of Il Dovere and L'Eco di Locarno . The first issue appeared on September 14, 1992.
