Champ-sur-Drac is a French municipality with 3007 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Grenoble-Alpes-Métropole municipality , to the Grenoble arrondissement and is part of the canton of Le Pont-de-Claix . The inhabitants are called Chenillard (e) s .
geography
Champ-sur-Drac is located about thirteen kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble on the Drac river , into which the Romanche flows here in the north-west of the municipality . Champ-sur-Drac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jarrie in the north, Montchaboud in the northeast, Notre-Dame-de-Mésage in the east, Saint-Georges-de-Commiers in the south, Vif in the southwest, Varces-Allières-et-Risset in the West as well as Champagnier in the northwest. Route nationale 85 runs along the northern edge of the municipality .
