Saint-Égrève is a French municipality with 15,838 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Grenoble-2 .
geography
The municipality is located northwest of Grenoble , at the foot of the Chartreuse massif . The western border of the municipality is formed by the Isère river , into which the Drac flows. To the northeast of Saint-Égrève are Quaix-en-Chartreuse and Proveysieux . To the southeast, Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux and Grenoble. Sassenage is in the south-west, Noyarey in the west and Fontanil-Cornillon in the north-west of Saint-Égrève. Part of the municipality is located in the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park (French: Parc naturel régional de Chartreuse ).
