Saint-Vérand is a French commune with 1,721 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Vérannais .

Saint-Vérand is located about 31 kilometers west of Grenoble on the Cumane River in the historic Dauphiné landscape . Saint-Vérand is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Murinais in the north and north-west, Varacieux in the north, Vinay in the north-east, Beaulieu in the east and north-east, Têche in the east, Saint-Sauveur in the south and south-east, Saint-Marcellin in the south and south-west and Chevrières in the West.
