Mayres-Savel is a French commune with a population of 97 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015 La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Mayrants .
geography
Mayres-Savel is located about 29 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble on the Drac , which is dammed here to form Lac de Monteynard-Avignonet (also: Lac de Notre-Dame-de-Commiers ) and delimits the community in the south and west. Mayres-Savel is surrounded by the neighboring communities Marcieu in the north, La Motte-Saint-Martin in the northeast, Prunières in the east and northeast, Saint-Arey in the east, Saint-Jean-d'Hérans in the southeast, Cornillon-en-Trièves in the south , Lavars in the south and southwest and meeting point in the west and northwest.
