Ornon is a French commune in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality, which belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Oisans-Romanche (until 2015 Le Bourg-d'Oisans ), has 152 (as of January 1, 2017) inhabitants, who are called Ornonais .

geography

Ornon is about 25 kilometers southeast of Grenoble . The municipality is particularly known for the ski slopes of the Col d'Ornon with the pass of the same name. Ornon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Oulles in the north, Le Freney-d'Oisans in the east and north-east, Villard-Reymond in the east, Chantelouve in the south, Lavaldens in the west and south-west and Livet-et-Gavet in the west and north-west.
