Beaulieu is a French municipality with 638 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016: Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called Beaulieurains .

geography

Beaulieu is located about 26 kilometers west of Grenoble in the historic Dauphiné an der Isère landscape , which borders the municipality in the southeast. Beaulieu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vinay in the north, Cognin-les-Gorges in the south and east, Izeron in the south, Têche in the west and south-west, Saint-Vérand in the west and north-west and Varacieux in the north-west.
