Notre-Dame-de-l_Osier (formerly Les Plantes ) is a French municipality with 492 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan ( canton of Vinay until 2015 ).

Notre-Dame-de-l'Osier is about 25 kilometers west-northwest of Grenoble . Notre-Dame-de-l'Osier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vatilieu in the north, Chantesse in the east, L'Albenc in the southeast, Vinay in the south and Serre-Nerpol in the west and northwest.

history

An apparition of the Virgin Mary has been handed down for the year 1657 . Since that time, Notre-Dame-de-l'Osier has been visited again and again as a place of pilgrimage. Until 1869 the place was part of the municipality of Vinay and was called Les Plantés . The basilica was built for this purpose from 1858 to 1868.
