Monestier-de-Clermont (previously: Clermont-en-Trièves ) is a French municipality with 1427 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of Monestier-de-Clermont ).

Monestier-de-Clermont is located about 25 kilometers south-southwest of Grenoble . Monestier-de-Clermont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sinard in the north and northeast, Treffort in the east, Roissard in the south and Saint-Paul-de-Monestier in the west.
The A51 autoroute and the former route nationale 75 (today's D1075) run through the municipality .
