Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is a French municipality with 237 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Haut-Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton Le Touvet ). The inhabitants are called Marie-Montois .

Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chapareillan in the north and northeast, Barraux in the northeast, La Flachère in the east, Saint-Vincent-de-Mercuze in the east and southeast, Le Touvet in the southeast, Saint-Bernard in the south, Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont (Isère) to the west and south-west, Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont (Savoie) to the west and Entremont-le-Vieux to the north-west.

Between 1973 and 1984 the municipality was merged with the neighboring commune of Saint-Vincent-de-Mercuze .
