La Motte-Saint-Martin is a French municipality with 444 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Mottois .
La Motte-Saint-Martin is about 28 kilometers south of Grenoble . La Motte-Saint-Martin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Monteynard in the north, Notre-Dame-de-Vaulx in the northeast, La Motte-d'Aveillans in the east, Susville in the southeast, Prunières in the south and southeast, Mayres-Savel in the south and Southwest, Marcieu in the southwest and Avignonet in the west.
