Lavaldens is a French municipality with 151 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves ( Valbonnais until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Vaudantins .

Lavaldens is located about 32 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble on the Roizonne River . Lavaldens is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of La Morte in the north and north-west, Livet-et-Gavet in the north, Ornon in the north-east, Chantelouve in the east, Le Périer in the south-east, La Valette in the south, Saint-Honoré in the south-west and Villard-Saint-Christophe in the West.
