Monteynard is a French municipality with 487 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015 La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Monteynardois .

geography

Monteynard is located about 24 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble on the Drac , which is dammed here to form the Lac de Monteynard-Avignonet (also: Lac de Notre-Dame-de-Commiers ). Monteynard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Notre-Dame-de-Commiers in the north, Notre-Dame-de-Vaulx in the northeast, La Motte-Saint-Martin in the east and southeast, Avignonet in the south and Saint-Martin-de-la-Cluze in the West.
