Prunières is a French municipality with 355 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Pruniérains .
geography
Prunières is located about 24 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble . Prunières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Motte-d'Aveillans in the north, Susville in the north and northeast, La Mure in the east, Cognet in the south and southeast, Saint-Arey in the west, Mayres-Savel in the west and northwest and La Motte-Saint -Martin in the northwest.
