Saint-Pierre-de-Mésage is located about 15 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble . The Romanche limits the municipality in the northeast. Saint-Pierre-de-Mésage is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Notre-Dame-de-Mésage in the north, Vizille in the north and north-east, Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne in the east and south-east, Laffrey in the south and south-east, Saint-Jean- de-Vaulx in the south and Saint-Georges-de-Commiers in the west and south-west.
The national route 85 runs through the municipality .
