Venon is a French commune in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It has 729 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is part of the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Saint-Martin-d'Hères (until 2015: canton of Eybens ). The inhabitants are called Venonais .

geography

Venon is about five kilometers east-southeast of downtown Grenoble . Venon is surrounded by its neighboring communities Gières in the north and west, Murianette in the east and northeast and Saint-Martin-d'Uriage in the south and east.
