Le Moutaret is a French municipality with 261 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Haut-Grésivaudan (until 2015: canton Allevard ). The inhabitants are called Moutarins .

Le Moutaret is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-Blanche in the north and north-west, Détrier in the north-east, La Chapelle-du-Bard in the east, Allevard in the south and Saint-Maximin in the west and south-west.
