Détrier is a French municipality with 427 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It is located in the Arrondissement of Chambéry and the canton of Montmélian (until 2015 La Rochette ). The inhabitants are called Destrolains or Détrelins .

Détrier is located about 20 kilometers southeast of Chambéry on the Bréda River . Lac Saint-Clair is located in the municipality . Détrier is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Villaroux in the north, Valgelon-La Rochette with La Rochette in the north and northeast, Arvillard in the east, La Chapelle-du-Bard in the south and southeast, Le Moutaret in the southwest and La Chapelle-Blanche in the west.
