Les Échelles is a French commune with 1,223 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin (until 2015: canton of Les Échelles ) in the Arrondissement of Chambéry and is a member of the Cœur de Chartreuse community .
geography
Les Échelles is located on the western edge of the department at about 380 m , about 19 kilometers southwest of the prefecture of Chambéry and about 27 kilometers north of the city of Grenoble (as the crow flies). The Guiers limits the community to the south and west. Neighboring municipalities of Les Échelles are Saint-Franc in the north and north-west, Saint-Pierre-de-Genebroz in the north, Saint-Christophe in the east, Saint-Christophe-sur-Guiers in the southeast, Entre-deux-Guiers in the south and Miribel-les -Échelles to the west.
