Bourgneuf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chamousset in the north and northwest, Aiton in the north, Bonvillaret in the east and northeast, Randens in the east and southeast, Aiguebelle in the southeast, Montgilbert and Chamoux-sur-Gelon in the south and Châteauneuf in the west.
