Le Verneil is a French municipality with 102 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It is located in the Arrondissement of Chambéry and the canton of Montmélian (until 2015 La Rochette ).

Le Verneil is about 24 kilometers east-southeast of Chambéry . Le Verneil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Table in the north and northeast, Saint-Alban-d'Hurtières in the east and northeast, Presle in the south and southwest and Valgelon-La Rochette with Étable in the west.
