Étable is a commune Déléguée in the French community Valgelon-La Rochette with 402 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The inhabitants are called Établerains .
The municipality of Étable merged with La Rochette to form the Commune nouvelle Valgelon-La Rochette on January 1, 2019 . Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Étable belonged to the Arrondissement of Chambéry and the canton of Montmélian (until 2015 La Rochette ).

Étable is about 20 kilometers southeast of Chambéry . Étable is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rotherens in the north, La Table in the north and northeast, Le Verneil in the east, Presle in the south and La Rochette in the west.
