geography
Fréterive is located about 25 kilometers east-northeast of Chambéry on the Isère . Fréterive is surrounded by the neighboring communities of École in the north, Grésy-sur-Isère in the east and northeast, Aiton in the southeast, Chamousset in the south and Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny in the west and southwest. The community is located within the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park .
