Grésy-sur-Isère is a French municipality with 1242 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Frontenex belongs to the canton of Albertville-2 (until 2015: canton of Grésy-sur-Isère ) in the arrondissement of Albertville and is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Haute Combe de Savoie .

Grésy-sur-Isère is located about 26 kilometers east-northeast of Chambéry and about 13 kilometers southwest of Albertville in the Isère valley . Grésy-sur-Isère is surrounded by the neighboring communities of École in the north and north-west, Montailleur in the east and north-east, Aiton in the south and Fréterive in the west. The community is located within the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park .
