Landry is a French municipality with 825 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .

geography

Landry is located in the Isère valley within the Tarentaise between the towns of Aime and Bourg-Saint-Maurice . In addition to the main town, the municipality includes the villages of le Villard, le Chêne, le Martorey, le Marterey, la Vinerie and le Parchet, which are located at an altitude of between 700 m and 1000 m.

Sports

The Peisey-Vallandry winter sports station is located above Landry in the south. It consists of the parts «Vallandry», which was opened in 1986, and «Plan Peisey», which is much older and belongs to the neighboring municipality of Peisey-Nancroix . Peisey-Vallandry, together with Les Arcs and La Plagne, forms the Paradiski ski pass network .

Landry Railway Station

Landry has its own SNCF train station on the Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny – Bourg-Saint-Maurice line , where both regional trains and TGVs stop. From there there is a bus service to the neighboring ski stations. Landry is the last stop before the terminus in Bourg-Saint-Maurice .
