Plancherine is a French municipality with 439 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). Plancherine belongs to the canton of Albertville-2 (until 2015 canton of Grésy-sur-Isère ) in the arrondissement of Albertville and is a member of the Communauté d'agglomération Arlysère .
geography
Plancherine is about 33 kilometers east-northeast of Chambéry and about five kilometers west-southwest of Albertville . Plancherine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Seythenex in the north, Mercury in the east, Verrens-Arvey in the south and west and Jarsy in the west. The community is located within the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park .
