Verrens-Arvey is a commune with a population of 900 (as at 1st January 2017) in the Savoie department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Verrens-Arvey belongs to the canton of Albertville-2 (until 2015: canton of Grésy-sur-Isère ) in the Arrondissement of Albertville and is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Haute Combe de Savoie .

geography

Verrens-Arvey is about 32 kilometers east-northeast of Chambéry and about six kilometers west-southwest of Albertville . The Chéran rises in the west of the municipality . Verrens-Arvey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Plancherine in the north, Mercury in the northeast, Gilly-sur-Isère in the east, Tournon in the southeast, Frontenex and Cléry in the south and Jarsy in the west. The community is located within the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park .
