Courchevel is a French commune with 2,361 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Albertville and the Canton of Moûtiers .

geography

Courchevel is located around 35 kilometers south-southeast of Albertville in the Tarentaise . The ski area of the same name is located in the municipality . The Doron de Bozel limits the municipality in the north. Courchevel is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Brides-les-Bains in the north and northwest, Montagny and Bozel in the north, Planay in the east, Pralognan-la-Vanoise in the south and east and Les Allues in the south and west.

history

On January 1, 2017, Courchevel was formed as Commune nouvelle from the previously independent municipalities of La Perrière and Saint-Bon-Tarentaise .
