The Doron de Bozel is a river in France that runs in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Vanoise massif , in the municipality of Pralognan-la-Vanoise . Its source is on the northwest flank of the Pointe de l'Échelle summit ( 3345 m ), below the Glacier de la Masse glacier , in the Vanoise National Park . It first drains in a northerly direction through the historical province of Tarentaise and changes its name several times ( Doron de Valpremont, Doron de Chavière, Doron de Pralognan ). At the confluence with its right tributary Doron de Champagny , it changes direction to the west, crosses the ultimately name-giving town of Bozel and, after a total of 39 kilometers , flows into the Isère as a left tributary just north-west of Moûtiers , on the municipal boundary with Salins-les-Thermes .
