Brides-les-Bains ( Franco-Provençal: Breda or Bouerda ) is commune with 506 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Albertville and the canton of Moûtiers ( canton Bozel until 2015 ). It is also part of the Val Vanoise Tarentaise municipal association . The inhabitants are called Bridois .
geography
Brides-les-Bains is located about 28 kilometers south-southwest of Albertville on the Doron de Bozel . Brides-les-Bains is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Feissons-sur-Salins in the north and northwest, Montagny in the north and east, Courchevel in the south and southeast, Les Allues in the south and Les Belleville in the west.
history
Until 1847 the community was called La Saulce . The Olympic village was built in the place for the 1992 Winter Olympics .
