The Torture Museum San Marino ( Italian : Museo della Tortura ) is a museum in San Marino . It covers part of the history of European law with an emphasis on torture methods from the Middle Ages to the early modern period .

The permanent exhibition with the exhibits is spread over two floors. About 100 true-to-original exhibits from the 16th century onwards can be seen. These include the Iron Maiden , Garrotte , shame masks , and chastity belts . The individual devices are partially depicted on life-size dolls or their function is explained in pictures with people.
