geography

Hauteluce is located in the Beaufortain massif on the Dorinet river , a tributary of the Doron . The Girotte dam on Lac de la Girotte is located northeast of the town center . Hauteluce is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe in the north and north-west, Praz-sur-Arly and Megève in the north, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in the north-east, Les Contamines-Montjoie in the east and north-east, and Beaufort in the south , Villard-sur-Doron in the southwest, Cohennoz in the west and Crest-Voland in the northwest. The community includes the two stations Les Saisies and Val Joly .
