Champagny-en-Vanoise is a French municipality with 579 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .

geography

The municipality belongs to the Tarentaise and is partly in the Vanoise National Park . The highest point in the municipality is at 3855  m, the peak of the Grande Casse , the highest mountain in the Vanoise massif . Champagny-en-Vanoise lies at the end of a valley through which the Doron de Champagny flows, which later bears the name Doron de Bozel in the neighboring municipality of Bozel .

tourism

Several hiking trails lead from the end of the valley in Le Laisonnay to the Vanoise National Park. Champagny-en-Vanoise is also one of the stations of the La Plagne ski area , which is located at an altitude of 1250  m .
