Saint-Cassien is a French commune with 1,162 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Voiron (until 2015 Rives ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Cassinois .

Saint-Cassien is about 25 kilometers northwest of Grenoble . Saint-Cassien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Murette in the north, Voiron in the east, Moirans in the south and Réaumont in the west.
