Cholonge is a French municipality with 329 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Cholongeards .
geography
Cholonge is about 26 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble . The Grand Lac de Laffrey is located on the western border of the municipality . Cholonge is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laffrey in the north and north-west, Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne in the north-east, La Morte in the east and north-east, Villard-Saint-Christophe in the south and Saint-Théoffrey in the west and south-west.
