Saint-Jean-d'Hérans is a French municipality with 288 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016: Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of Mens ).
Saint-Jean-d'Hérans is about 37 kilometers south of Grenoble . The Drac limits the community to the north. Saint-Jean-d'Hérans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Arey in the north, Cognet in the north and northeast, Châtel-en-Trièves in the east, Mens in the south, Cornillon-en-Trièves in the west and southwest and Mayres-Savel in the Northwest.
