Lumbin is a French commune with 2,136 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Moyen Grésivaudan (until 2015: canton of Le Touvet ). The inhabitants are called Lumbinois .

geography

Lumbin is located 19 kilometers northeast of Grenoble on the Isère in the Grésivaudan countryside . Lumbin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Terrasse in the north and northeast, Tencin in the east and northeast, La Pierre in the east and southeast, Le Champ-près-Froges in the south and southeast, Crolles in the south and southwest and Saint-Hilaire in the west.

The municipality is crossed by the Autoroute A41 and the former Route nationale 90 (today's D1090).
