Vaujany is a French commune in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality, which belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Oisans-Romanche , has 337 (as of January 1, 2017) inhabitants, the Vaujanyats or Vaujanyates .

geography

Vaujany is located about 27 kilometers east-southeast of Grenoble . In the northeast of the municipality there is the Lac de Grand-Maison reservoir and in the southwest of the municipality the Lac du Verney reservoir , both of which are endowed by the Eau d'Olle river and its tributaries. Vaujany is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Ferrière in the north, Saint-Colomban-des-Villards in the northeast, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves in the east, Clavans-en-Haut-Oisans and Le Freney-d'Oisans in the southeast, Oz in the South and Allemond in the west.
