Murinais is a French municipality with 397 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called Murinois .
geography
Murinais is located about 32 kilometers west of Grenoble in the historic Dauphiné landscape , on the Merdaret river , which is still called Ruisseau de Murinais here . Murinais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Varacieux in the north and east, Saint-Vérand in the south and south-east, Chevrières in the west and south-west and Roybon in the north-west.
