Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier is a French commune with 1,886 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Hilairois .

Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier is located about 39 kilometers west-southwest of Grenoble in the historic Dauphiné region , on the Isère , which borders the municipality to the east and south. In the northwest runs the Furand river with its small tributary Merdaret . Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Bonnet-de-Chavagne in the north, Chatte and La Sône in the northeast, Saint-Just-de-Claix in the east, Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans in the south, La Baume-d'Hostun and Eymeux in the southwest and Saint-Lattier in the west.

The A49 autoroute runs through the municipality .
