Cognet is a French commune with a population of 42 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of La Mure ). The inhabitants are called Muxiens .

geography

Cognet is located about 24 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble on the Drac , which borders the municipality in the south. Cognet is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of La Mure in the north, Ponsonnas in the east, Saint-Jean-d'Hérans in the south, Saint-Arey in the west and Prunières in the west and northwest.
