Avignonet is a French municipality with 197 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves ( Monestier-de-Clermont until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Avignonetins .

geography

Avignonet is located about 26 kilometers south-southwest of Grenoble on a plateau in the Vercors Mountains. The Drac limits the community in the east. Avignonet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Martin-de-la-Cluze in the north, Monteynard in the east and northeast, La Motte-Saint-Martin in the east, Marcieu in the southeast and Sinard in the south and west.
