Gresse-en-Vercors is a French municipality with 395 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves (until 2015: canton of Monestier-de-Clermont ). The inhabitants are called Gressois (also: Gressots ).
geography
The winter sports resort of Gresse-en-Vercors with its numerous ski slopes is located about 28 kilometers south-southwest of Grenoble on a plateau in the Vercors Mountains. The river Gresse has its source here . Gresse-en-Vercors is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Andèol in the north, Saint-Guillaume in the northeast, Saint-Paul-de-Monastier in the east and northeast, Roissard in the east, Saint-Michel-les-Portes in the southeast, and Chichilianne in the South and Southeast, Romeyer in the South and Southwest and Saint-Agnan-en-Vercors in the West.
