Saint-Sauveur is a French commune with 2,098 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: canton of Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Salvériens .

Saint-Sauveur is located about 31 kilometers west of Grenoble on the Isère , which borders the municipality in the southeast, in the historic Dauphiné landscape . Saint-Sauveur is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Vérand in the north, Têche in the north-east, Izeron in the east, Saint-Pierre-de-Chérennes in the south and south-east, Beauvoir-en-Royans and Saint-Romans in the south, Chatte in the west and Southwest and Saint-Marcellin to the west and northwest.

The A49 autoroute runs through the municipality .
